But instead of pulling with alignment and cadence to the mythical magic, we have reverted to yanking, twisting, and now frantically spinning the great sword, hoping it will come free.
Surely we deserve that?
But the blade no longer cuts. It has been spun so long that it has become a column of metal, a pole. No sharpness remains, yet still we cannot receive the magic of Merlin.
What does this vision tell us?
This is the myth of the King who has ruled by force, now asked to rule by presence. It is the story of humanity at the crossroads of will and wisdom. The fire of leadership burns within each of us, but the messenger of truth is silent. Our heart’s chalice is overturned, and the burdens we carry are not ours alone. We have planned, we have strategized, but the path forward requires surrender, the polar opposite of control.

In the myth, the Lady of the Lake gave Excalibur to Arthur, and later took it back when his time was done.
In this vision, she returns, to offer something greater:
The remembrance of balance.
She whispers:

“I return to offer you a choice, a choice between clinging to what was and stepping into what is becoming.
You have spun the blade into a pole, and now you stand at the edge of the lake, wondering what remains.

You have walked away many times, but never fully. You carry the echoes of unfinished journeys, the fire of passion without direction, and the fear of letting go.
