The Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice Overview

What is The Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice?

The Dyad Connection Meditation Practice is an essential technique for connection, inquiry and deep relaxation of the mind, body and spirit. This practice is important because it forms the foundation of Open Inward to Eternal Wisdom. You will use it every time you sit down to do exercises for this program in your Dyads (your weekly practice with a partner). 

You will notice that this practice is almost the same as the Self-Connection Mediation Practice. The main difference is that instead of doing this practice alone for self-connection and inquiry, you will be doing it with your Dyad partner. One of you will be the leading role known as the Sacred Witness and the other will be the receiving role known as the Recipient. You will take turns in each role. 

The purpose of this practice is to activate a safe sacred space or a virtual temple if you like. From within this sacred space, you can both more easily deepen your self-awareness, connect with your Conscious Higher Self, and hone your Spiritual Gifts. 

This practice will help you to shift from a normal beta consciousness into a mindful state of awareness. 

The sooner you can commit this practice to memory the sooner you will begin to experience more profound rewards. 

Ego Trappings:

Your egoic self may be tempted to do a Dyad Connection Meditation Practice for the purpose of demonstrating your ability versus sincerely coming from an intention of humility and service. This seduction dangerously contributes to your self-disconnection and disassociation from your Conscious Higher Self. Your ego quickly steps in and causes your self-connection meditation practice to plateau or deteriorate. The outcomes of this program are lost and your Conscious Higher-Self connection is damaged.  

Application

Throughout the course of Open Inward to Eternal Wisdom, you will have many opportunities to make use of the Self-Connection Meditation Practice, and the Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice.

Preparation is Everything

Plan a date with your dyad partner for each week

  • Connect with your dyad partner through Facebook Messenger
    • Friend each other and exchange contact details
  • Set a date that works for you both
  • Choose to meet on Skype or Zoom (Record in Gallery View so I can see both of you at once)

Before you meet up with your Dyad Partner

  • Let anyone in your space know that you are not to be disturbed unless it is urgent
  • Take care of last-minute details and potential issues so that your time with yourself and your dyad partner is gloriously free of interruptions and distractions.
    • Distractions can easily interrupt the harmony of your energies. 
    • Disturbances also result in requiring more energy and time to reconnect with yourselves and each other. 
  • Turn off your phone or put it in ‘airplane’ mode or relinquish it to another room entirely.  
  • Make a commitment to yourself and to each other to stick to that date
  • Commit to showing up 100% ready to dive into the current dyad exercise 
  • Last and most important, do the Self-Connection Meditation Practice to be in the most optimum state of being

At your Dyad meeting

  • Do the Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice once at the beginning of your dyad session (to activate the Virtual Temple)
    • Before you begin, set your intentions on the following:
      • Check your watch or clock to be mindful of the passing of time
        • A session that runs on too long is exhausting and can create an imbalance
      • Decide which one of you is going to guide you both through activating the virtual temple
        • Which one of you is going to be the #1 Sacred Witness
        • Which one of you is going to be #2 Sacred Witness
      • Announce these intentions at the beginning of your session
        • I.E. Liz King will guide us through the activation of the virtual temple, Caitlin Riddell will be the #1 Sacred Witness and Liz will be the #2 Sacred Witness.
    • Once you have activated your virtual temple, acknowledge silently that it is a unique sacred space built just for both of you and for this dyad exercise at this moment
      • This temple activation will help to shift you BOTH from normal beta consciousness into a mindful state of awareness
        • This mind-shift creates optimum results for the unit exercise
    • At Listening Station #5, when you are ready to say your common names in unison, it’s important to synchronize your voices so do a countdown: 3,2,1 and then say or preferably sing your names uninhibitedly, strong, loud and clear. (Very profound experience)
      • This practice will activate a sacred space from within which you will proceed with the unit exercise
      • Next, nested within this virtual temple/sacred space, you will again use the Dyad Connection Meditation Practice but this time with a different intention (as presented in each unit exercise)
      • For the unit exercise, each of you will have the opportunity to experience both roles (One of you will be the leading role known as the Sacred Witness and the other will be the receiving role known as the Recipient)
    • Altogether, you will do the ‘Connection Meditation Practice’ three times in a Dyad meeting
      • Once where you created the virtual temple/sacred space at the beginning of your dyad session
      • Two more times for the Dyad exercise (playing both roles)
        • Switch your roles so that you both get opportunities in each role for the unit exercise
  • As a general rule, take at least 5-10 minutes to do this dyad-connection practice from beginning to end.

Always Remember to Close The Virtual Temple

Please Remember: 

  1. When you have completed your dyad exercise in both roles, you are both ready to end your session formally. 
  2. Mindfully, face the East, go into your heart and silently express gratitude to the energy of the Virtual Temple. 
  3. With intention, respectfully release and collapse the Virtual Temple.
    1. It is important that everyone be responsible for making sure the Virtual Temple is collapsed.

Always Activate the Virtual Temple for the following:

  • Solo Exercises
  • Dyad Sessions
  • Client Experience Sessions

Optional: Self-Connection Meditation Practice

Pro Tips: 

  1. Rehearse the dyad-connection practice script before you meet with your dyad partner so that your voice and your energy will be experienced as gentle, unhurried, and intentional (around self-connection).
    1. With repetition, this dyad-connection practice results in an efficient and fuller connection to you and your dyad partner. 
  2. Just before you meet up with your Dyad partner, I recommend that you do the Self-Connection Meditation Practice to bring yourself into an optimum state of being

What are the Listening Stations from the Sacred Witness Role?

The Listening Stations are information gateways located on your body. When activated through intention, they can reveal insightful information. This detected information reveals insights into the present qualities of your self-connection such as how you relate to yourself, others, and much more. For a deeper experience, your journey through these stations should be mindful and ‘kata-like’.  Over time and practice, you will learn to increasingly tune in, assess your and your Recipient’s current state of being. This will enhance your potential to restore your balance and harmonize with yourself and therefore others and life challenges.

Listening Station 1: 

Body Location: Upper Thighs

Realm: Physical Realm

The 1st station is a starting resting position. This is where you will activate your awareness of the quality of your Recipient’s connection to her physical body, body-mind awareness and physical sensing intuition. It is also about the quality of her connection to the earth, the material world, and its physical attributes and structures, including material abundance. 

Listening Station 2: 

Body Location: Navel

Realm: Creative Realm

The 2nd station is where you will activate your awareness of the quality of your Recipient’s connection to her unique narrative, the narrator within, her connection to her creation story, inspirational intuition/creativity, gestation, brainchildren, tribal consciousness, family, culture, ancestors, art, writing, and poetry.

Listening Station 3: 

Body Location: Head

Realm: Mental Realm

The 3rd station is where you will activate your awareness of the quality of your Recipient’s connection to her beliefs, intellect, knowledge, wisdom, intellectual based intuition, awareness of polarity, duality, her subconscious, analysis, lateral thought, memories, and her personal paradigm.

Listening Station 4: 

Body Location: Upper Chest

Realm: Emotional Realm

The 4th station is where you will activate your awareness of the quality of your Recipient’s connection to her emotional intelligence, outer social intelligence, relationships, the physical pain body, empathic based intuition, feeling mind, heart, soul, and actions concerning her dharma  (and karma).

Listening Station 5: Identification/Name

Body Location: Upper Thighs

Realm: Body-Mind Realm

The 5th station is an ending resting position. This is where you will invite your Recipient to say her common name out loud 4 times. This action will activate your awareness of the quality of your Dyad partner’s connection to her relationship to who she is, her sense of identity, purpose, archetype, personality and also her sense of belonging, worth and place in this world.

Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice Guide

This Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice will guide you both through the five Listening Stations. Each Listening Station once activated gives the Sacred Witness an opportunity to connect to the current qualities and characteristics of your Dyad Partner, your Recipient. 

During a Dyad Observation Connection Meditation Practice, you can focus entirely on your Recipient. 

As Dyad partners, you will take turns being the Sacred Witness and the Recipient. The Sacred Witness will read the script orally while the Recipient follows the verbal instructions. 

With dedication, you will hone your intuitive abilities which in turn will deepen your connection to YOU and others.

Important: 

With no expectations or conditions, as the Sacred Witness set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images in relation to the quality of your connection to your Recipient at each listening station.

Pro Tips: 

  • To get maximum results, remain present, hyper-focused and self-aware of your experiences
  • The Sacred Witness should have a pen and paper handy or a mind map program open, to ground any experiences and findings during the course of the connection meditation practice 
  • The Recipient should be relaxed as if having a client experience
  • If you should become distracted during the practice by your ‘monkey-mind’ thoughts, quickly acknowledge them, breath, relax and reset your intention to return to your deliberate sensing awareness
  • Move through the Listening Stations in a state of relaxation with mindful, and flowing movements
  • As the Sacred Witness remain open to experiencing a subtle shift in your energy or breathing or a ‘knowing’ when it is time to transition from one listening station to the next
  • At the 1st Listening Station, you are facilitating your Recipient to help them get grounded.
  • Simultaneously ground yourself as if following your Recipient deep and wide into the earth.
  • When you bring your awareness to the feet there is an acupuncture point here called K1: Bubbling Spring
    • Just by thinking about it, you activate it 
    • You may experience a sensation in your feet
  • You may experience as an observer a vicarious sensation in the feet of your Recipient
  • You may also experience vicarious sensations at every listening station

Instructions for each Listening Station 

Listening Station 1: Starting Resting Position

  • Sit, recline, or stand with your feet shoulder-width apart with your knees slightly bent
    • Find what position works best for you each time you set about to do this practice
    • Rest your hands on your thighs, palms down to keep your energy ‘present’
  • Get yourself into a quiet and settled state 
  • Take some cleansing breaths, and relax yourself
  • Next, you will want to make sure that your spine is straight and lengthened
  • Then you will slightly tip your chin downward while lifting the base of the skull slightly
    • This important action opens the space at the base of your skull and the top of the neck
  • Next allow your eyelids to become heavy and nearly completely closed
    • Then roll your eyes upwards as if looking at the middle of your forehead
  • Breathe in a relaxed and effortless way with no particular breathing pattern

Grounding with Gravity

Once in the “starting resting position” listed above

Use your imagination to connect with the downward pushing sensation of gravity from the top of your head to the ends of your fingers and toes for the purpose of relaxing your whole body. (You can try to recall the last time you lifted off the ground in an airplane and experienced this pulling down sensation in your body until the plane levelled out at its cruising altitude.)

Next, use your imagination to push your energy through the middle of the balls of your feet, and continue to push your energy deep into the planet. Imagine anchoring yourself to the core of the earth. 

Sacred Witness: Remain at this Listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or you sense a shift in your or your Recipient’s energy or breathing.

Listening Station 2: Navel/Creative Realm 

Rest your hands over your navel area

Pro Tips: 

  • Connecting to Your Center of Gravity: From this position with your hands over your navel, imagine the downward pushing sensation of gravity moving along an invisible line, at a 16-18-degree diagonal pathway towards the centre of your body. This is the location of your centre of gravity while standing or upright.
  • Sacred Witness: Remain at this Listening Station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel that your Recipient is ready or you sense a shift in your or their energy or breathing.

Listening Station 3: Head/Mental Realm

Rest the heels of your hands gently above the top of your ears and allow your hands to gently cup your head (not laced … like holding a football)

Sacred Witness: Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or you sense a shift in your Recipient’s energy or breathing.

Listening Station 4: Heart/Emotional Realm

Rest your hands on the upper center part of your chest

Sacred Witness: Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or you sense a shift in your Recipient’s energy or breathing.

Listening Station 5: Name/Identity

Rest your hands on the ending resting position on your thighs, palms face down to remain grounded and present

Sacred Witness: Invite your Recipient’s to speak their common name 4 X’s out loud (first and last name) while holding the intention of calling in all the parts of who they are to be fully present.

Guide your Recipient: 

  • Listen to the sacred sound that your voice creates
  • When you are ready, invite your Recipient to return to an alert state, and open your eyes
  • Recall and ground/document what you experienced at each of the Five Listening Stations
    • You may have experienced thoughts, images, sounds, sensations, movements, or nothing at all

Pro Tips: Sacred Witness

  • When speaking to your Recipient, form a clean intention around amplifying self-connection
  • Read the oral script with a calm, unhurried and loving voice
  • Where indicated, add breathing room pauses for as long as what feels natural for you
    • You may experience a knowing, a sensation or a shift in your breathing indicating it is time to transition to the next listening station

“My intention is with you, (insert Recipient’s name). 

“Begin with the starting resting position. Rest your hands on your thighs, palms down to keep your energy ‘present’. Become quiet. Take some cleansing breaths, and relax. (Pause.)

Next, lengthen and straighten your spine. Slightly tip your chin downward, and notice the base of the skull lifting. Imagine an opening at the base of your skull and the top of your spine. Now allow your eyelids to become heavy and nearly completely closed. Now roll your eyes upwards as if looking at the middle of your forehead. Good. Breathe in a relaxed and effortless way with no particular breathing pattern. (Pause.)

Now, begin to focus inward. Bring your awareness to the quality of your relationship and connection to the earth. Use your imagination to connect with the downward pulling sensation of gravity. Imagine feeling gravity pulling down through your whole body from the top of your head to the ends of your fingers and toes. Use this grounding pulling down body memory sensation to surrender to gravity and relax your whole body. Keep slowly using your connection to gravity to pull down through your neck, drop your shoulders, and release your upper chest. Let your arms hang from your shoulders like heavy cables. Feel your elbows being pulled down to the earth. Feel your breathing fall deeper. Keep following gravity down into your belly, letting your belly let go and expand. Take a breath and relax your whole spine. Bring your awareness to that pulling down gravity sensation into the pelvic floor. Feel a heaviness here. (Pause.)

Use your mind and guide the pushing down relaxation sensation into your hips and feel them relax. Now push down through your thighs, over your knees, down your calves, relaxing all those muscles. Drop into your ankles and feel them relax. Bring that relaxation into your feet. Be aware of any tension or sensations. Relax any parts of you that are still not relaxed. Now use your imagination and connect to the force of gravity and start to push your energy through the middle of the balls of your feet, through acupuncture point K1: Bubbling Spring. Just by thinking about K1, you activate it. Remain open to experiencing a sensation in the balls of your feet. Keep pushing your energy deeper and deeper into the planet until you reach the core of the earth. Now, imagine anchoring yourself to the core of the earth. Notice the quality of your relationship to your physical body right now. Scan your body and relax any areas that need a bit more coaxing. You are now anchored to the deepest part of the earth, the 1st listening station. (Pause.)

With no expectations or conditions, set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images. 

This is where you learn about the quality of your connection to the physical material world, its physical attributes and structures, including material abundance. (Pause.)

Now take a transition breath and prepare to move to the 2nd listening station. The 2nd station is about the quality of your connection to your creative realm, your unique narrative, you the narrator, your creation story, creativity, gestation, brainchildren, off-spring, tribal consciousness, family, culture, ancestors, art, writing, poetry, and your inspirational intuition. Now lift your hands from resting on your thighs and rest your hands over your navel area. Imagine the downward pushing sensation of gravity moving along an invisible line, at a 16-18-degree diagonal pathway towards the centre of your body. This is the location of your centre of gravity.

With no expectations or conditions, set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images with regards to the quality of your connection to your creative realm.  (Pause.)

Now take a transition breath and prepare to move to the 3rd listening station. This 3rd station is about the quality of your connection to your mental realm, your subconscious, your beliefs, your intellect, your intellectual intuition, your memories, your personal paradigm, polarity, duality, analysis, lateral thoughts, knowledge, and wisdom. Move your hands from your navel area and rest the heels of your hands gently above the top of your ears and allow your hands to gently cup your head (like holding a football). Avoid ‘lacing’ your fingers together or hovering off your head. 

With no expectations or conditions, set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images with regards to the quality of your connection to your mental realm.  (Pause.)

Now take a transition breath and prepare to move to the 4th listening station.  This 4th station is about the quality of connection to your emotional intelligence, your outer social intelligence, your relationships, your physical pain body, your empathic based intuition, your feeling mind, yes and even your soul and your actions concerning your dharma (karma/dharma). Move your hands from the sides of your head and rest your hands on the upper center part of your chest. 

With no expectations or conditions, set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images with regards to the quality of your connection to your emotional realm.  (Pause.)

Now take a transition breath and prepare to move to the 5th listening station. This 5th station is about the quality of your connection to who you are, your sense of identity, the quality of your connection to your purpose, your archetype, and your place in this world. Move your hands from the upper center part of your chest and rest your hands on your lap, palms face down to remain grounded and present. Begin the process of calling in all the parts of you to be fully present. Use a strong and clear voice and speak out loud your common name 4 X’s (your first and last name). 

With no expectations or conditions, set your intention to receive subtle energy pulses in the form of information, sensation or images with regards to the quality of your connection to your identity. (Pause.)

Notice how you feel right now about the quality of your connection to your identity. Silently pause for what feels like the perfect amount of time for you. Now take a transition breath. You are ready to return to an alert state. Open your eyes.”

End of Script

Session Closure Intention:

  • Intentionally break your connection to the sea of consciousness outside of your consciousness. 
  • You may have merged with energies during the session so it is important to break that connection. 
  • It is critical to restore your energy at this point intentionally.

Recite quietly or silently to yourself:

“All consciousness, not my own, including spiritual energies, beings and souls that may have merged and connected to me during this session – you must leave my energy field now.”

“Conscious Higher Self and my Spirit Team, please clear my energy field now.”

Take a quick energy shower:

Wash your field with white, pinks and green light through your entire being. You intend to wash off all energy that does not belong to you.

Visualize while you silently recite:

“I restore my energy field with white, pinks and green flowing light from the top of my energy field down to the bottom of my energy field.

“Conscious Higher Self and my Spirit Team, please restore my energy field now.”

  • Mindfully enter a space of gratitude and appreciation for the work you have just done.
  • Acknowledge your Trust & Faith in the assistance you have received with gratitude by silently saying a heartfelt Thank you to the unseen world of your Conscious Higher Self, your Spirit Team, Kannon, and Galactic Masters.
  • Consciously affirm that you have received what you asked for and more.
  • Now take a transition breath.

Silently: “My deepest gratitude to the unseen world of my Conscious Higher Self, my Spirit Team, Kannon, and the Galactic Masters. Thank you.”

(Pause.)

Gently Invite your Recipient to return to an alert state

“I invite you to return to an alert state now. Open your eyes when you are ready.”

Then ask them how they are feeling. “Tell me, how are you feeling right now?” 

  • Then begin sharing what you documented at each of the Listening Stations. 
  • You may have perceived thoughts, images, sounds, sensations, movements, or stillness and silence. Whatever you experience is appropriate for you and your Recipient at this time.

Switch Roles. Rinse and repeat in your new role
