The Open Inward Self-Connection Meditation Practice Guide will take you through the five primary listening stations as shared Lesson 5. Once activated, each listening station allows you to connect to their current state of balance (psychic data) through the lens of their respective qualities and characteristics like a snapshot in time and space.
Pro Tips:
With dedication, you will hone your intuitive and psychic abilities, which in turn will deepen your connection to YOU and others.
To get maximum results, remain present, hyper-focused and self-aware of your experiences.
Ground/document your experiences afterwards into a journal
If you should become distracted during the practice by your ‘monkey-mind’, quickly acknowledge that ‘monkey’, breath, relax and reset your intention to return to your deliberate sensing awareness
Move through the listening stations in a state of relaxation with mindful and flowing movements
Remain open to experiencing a shift in your energy or breathing, or you may arrive at a ‘knowing’ when it is time to transition from one listening station to the next
At the 1st listening station, as you are grounding, when you bring your awareness to your feet, there is an acupuncture point here called K1: Bubbling Spring
Just by thinking about it, you activate it
You may experience a sensation in your feet
Listening Station 1: Starting Resting Position
Rest your hands on the starting resting position on your thighs; palms face down to remain grounded and present.
You may experience warmth in and or under your hands. This is Chi/energy.
Sit, recline, or stand with your feet shoulder-width apart with your knees slightly bent.
Find what position works best for you each time you set about to do this practice.
Rest your hands on your thighs, palms down to keep your energy ‘present.’
Get yourself into a quiet and settled state
Take some cleansing breaths, and relax yourself
Next, you will want to make sure that your spine is straight and lengthened.
Then you will slightly tip your chin down toward your chest while slightly lifting the base of the skull.
This critical action makes your head subservient to your heart and opens the space at the base of your skull and the top of the neck, and activates a powerful little-known energy centre I call “The Mouth of God.”
Next, allow your eyelids to become heavy and nearly completely closed
Spread your eyelids horizontally to soften further
Then roll your eyes upwards as if looking at the middle of your forehead
Allow your eyes to fall out of focus
Breath in a relaxed and effortless way with no particular breathing pattern
Maintain this body posture until the end
Your hands should be resting on your lap, palms down to keep your energy ‘present.’
Grounding with Gravity
Once in the “starting resting position” listed above
Use your imagination to visualize connecting with the downward pushing sensation of gravity. Start at the top of your head and work your way to the ends of your fingers and toes. The goal is to relax your whole body.
Pro Tip:
Recall the last time you lifted off the ground in an airplane and experienced the down-pulling sensation in your body until the plane levelled out at its cruising altitude.
Next, use your imagination to visualize pushing your energy through the middle of the balls of your feet (k1). Continue to push your energy down until you reach the center of the planet.
Imagine anchoring yourself to the core of the earth.
Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or sense a shift in your energy or breathing.
Listening Station 2: Navel/Creative Realm
Mindfully lift your hands from the resting starting position on your thighs and gently land and rest your hands over your navel area.
You may experience warmth in and or under your hands. This is Chi/energy.
Pro Tip:
Connecting to Your Center of Gravity:
From this position, with your hands over your navel, imagine the downward pushing sensation of gravity moving along an invisible line at a 16-18-degree diagonal pathway downwards towards the centre of your body. This is the location of your centre of gravity while standing or upright.
(Note: This grounding concept is further developed in Week 3)
Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or sense a shift in your energy or breathing.
Listening Station 3: Head/Mental Realm
Mindfully lift your hands from your navel area and gently land and rest the heels of your hands on the sides of your head, above the top of your ears. Gently cup your head with your hands. (Do not lace your fingers together on top of your head.)
You may experience warmth in and or under your hands. This is Chi/energy.
Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or sense a shift in your energy or breathing.
Listening Station 4: Heart/Emotional Realm
Mindfully lift your hands from the sides of your head and land and rest your hands on the upper center part of your chest.
You may experience warmth in and or under your hands. This is Chi/energy.
Remain at this listening station for as long as you like. Proceed to the next station when you feel ready or sense a shift in your energy or breathing.
Listening Station 5: Name/Identity
Mindfully lift your hands from your upper chest and gently land and rest your hands on the ending resting position on your thighs; palms face down to remain grounded and present.
You may experience warmth in and or under your hands. This is Chi/energy.
Speak or preferably sing your common name 4 X’s out loud (your first and last name) while holding the intention of calling in all the parts of you to be fully present. This is for you.
When we sing our names, the frequency of who you are is more likely to vibrate in your heart versus in your head.
Listen to the sacred sound that your voice creates
When you are ready, return to an alert state, and open your eyes
Recall and ground/document what you experienced at each of the five listening stations
You may have experienced thoughts, images, sounds, sensations, movements, or nothing at all
